Nicolas Cage will not face charges over New Orleans Arrest

6 May

Actor, Nicolas Cage will not be prosecuted by the Orleans Parish District Attorney for his arrest last month.

On April 16th, Cage was arrested for domestic abuse and disturbing the peace in the French Quarter in New Orleans, Lousiana. A witness reported that the 47 year old actor grabbed his wife’s arm and was pounding on cars in the area.

Cage’s attorney said: “The New Orleans DA has confirmed no charges of any kind will be pursued against him.” His lawyer was “pleased the process led to the correct result.”

Cage no longer lives in New Orleans, having lost a pair of houses in the city — including the reputedly haunted LaLaurie Mansion in the French Quarter — to bank sales.

A nephew of Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola, Cage was in town filming the thriller “Medallion,” one of several Lousiana-based projects for actor whose portrayal of an alcoholic in the 1995 film “Leaving Las Vegas” won him an Oscar.

This run-in with New Orleans police was Cage’s second in a little more than a month. In early March, officers escorted Cage out of “Stella!” an upscale French Quarter restaurant, in an incident that ended with a broken window. Cage was not charged in that incident either.
