“Housewife” Attorney Phaedra Parks to judge battle of the legal bands

In the perfect mixture of celebrity and law, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Phaedra Parks will put her entertainment and legal acumen to work Saturday, June 18, 2011 as a judge of the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s “LawJam” fundraiser.

If  you’re in the area, the event starts at 7:15 p.m. and will be held at the Variety Playhouse.

Parks, who is an entertainment lawyer, has represented celebrities such as Jermaine Dupri and Bobby Brown.

The audience vote tally and judges’ decision will be combined to produce this year’s winner.

The event is open to the public at $30 per ticket. It’s $10 per ticket for law students. Proceeds benefit the Atlanta Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Atlanta Bar Association, which funds projects that support youth, pro bono legal services, higher education through scholarships and public understanding of the law. The Foundation also maintains an annual grant program to support pro bono legal service providers that serve low income citizens in the Atlanta.
