The judge’s decision, which came over objections from prosecutors, brings an end to the rapper’s longstanding legal troubles in Louisiana. NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is now free to do whatever he wants, including schedule performances, release music and even move out of state. And that’s just what he plans to do.

Youngboy’s lawyer, James Manasseh, said his client is planning to leave his Baton Rouge hometown and possibly relocate to Los Angeles for a bigger market and better opportunities to pursue his burgeoning career.

“Being in Baton Rouge isn’t conducive to him being able to grow and move forward,” Manasseh said after the hearing Friday, calling Gaulden a “genuinely good hearted, generous, sweet young man” who works hard for his success.

The judge had given Gaulden a suspended 10-year prison term in August 2017 and put him on probation for three years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm in the 2016 shooting. But Jackson decided Friday that the rapper had served enough time under court supervision — 28 months on probation — and released him.

Multiple media outlets have reported that the brothers of Louisiana based rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again are now in custody for the murder of  a 17-year-old kid named Javon Brown. While the 20-year-old rapper remains on house arrest for the next and is required to wear an ankle bracelet, that didn’t stop his brothers from finding trouble. Big trouble.

According to WVLA, 16-year-old Jeffrey Tate and 18-year-old Davaughn Tate were arrested Wednesday in connection to the fatal shooting of Brown. The Tate brothers—along with a third suspect 16-year-old Kevin Anderson, allegedly approached the teen at around 2:45 p.m. Monday as he was walking home from school in Baton Rouge, LA.

A police report states the three suspects instigated a physical altercation with Brown, who was ultimately shot in the stomach. The three teens fled the scene before police arrived. Brown died from his injuries Tuesday morning at the hospital.

WBRZ reports Davaughn was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, while Jeffrey and Anderson were initially charged with principal to second-degree murder, principal to illegal use of a weapon, and simple battery. On Thursday, however, a judge decided Jeffrey would be charged with murder and stand trial as an adult.

Although YoungBoy has said he only has one brotherWBRZ pointed to court records that indicate the rapper shares the same father with the Tate brothers. A spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Police Department could not confirm that Jeffrey and Davaughn were, in fact, related to the rapper, but were aware that local media outlets were making the connection. According to WBRZ, Jeffrey Tate is being represented by James Manasseh. YoungBoy was previously represented by the same lawyer when he was allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting.
