Rapper Suge Knight arrested in Las Vegas on traffic and drug charges

Rapper Suge Knight was arrested in Las Vegas after a traffic stop last night.

The 46-year-old hip-hop star was detained on suspicion of possessing marijuana.

Police noticed his black Bentley make an unsafe lane change and pulled him over on a street just off Flamingo Road west of the Las Vegas Strip.

There were multiple warrants out for his arrest, stemming from minor traffic violations.

A search of the vehicle allegedly found a small amount of the drug.

Knight was booked into jail and later released.

According to TMZ.com, the rap mogul is currently on three years unsupervised probation for driving on a suspended license.

Knight’s court date wasn’t immediately available.

The producer, real name Marion Knight Jr, founded the iconic hip hop label Death Row Records and was one of the most powerful music figures of the 1990s.

His stable of rappers included superstars Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and Tupac Shakur, who was shot and killed back in 1996 while travelling in Knight’s car.

Soulja Boy says he’s innocent after arrest in West Georgia Town

CBS Atlanta reports (http://bit.ly/pvmBTz) that Soulja Boy said “I’m innocent, man” during the chaotic scene Tuesday as bodyguards rushed him into a waiting car.

Soulja Boy, also known as DeAndre Cortez Way, faces a drug charge after police stopped his rental car in the west Georgia town of Temple on Interstate 20.

Temple Police Chief Tim Shaw said police stopped the Cadillac Escalade early Tuesday because a light wasn’t working. He said officers found marijuana inside. Earlier reports from the Associated Press said he was arrested on drug and gun possession.

The rapper was released on $10,000 bond.

Carroll County officials say he was represented by attorney Kip Jones, who had no comment when contacted.
